Update as of March 24th:  The first male robins are here and busy carving out their territory.  Time toget thos bird boxes cleaned out...

The peppers were sown in the nursery yesterday.  I am doing several types this season, many of them new.  More details to follow.

Hello Everyone:  Here is a quick update on the growth of your food this season.  The first round of onions have been successfully promoted to their cellpacks, where they will remain until transplant time sometime mid May.

To insure myself against any nursery losses, I have started a second round, along with a few crops that require a long seedling growth period before they are ready for transplant - celery and celeiac, and some opopeo flowers (good for finches which in turn are good for insect control).

Work continues despite the lack of tillable gound and little to do in the nursery except maintain wamth and water.

The tires are being removed from the riding mower and replaced in preparation for getting the machine to a repair shop for a complete work over.  Spending a day wrestling with wheel rims and rubber tires is not my idea of fun, but if we want to keep the electric fence lines clear then getting the mower running will be a big help - it's far quicker than wipping the grass and weeds.

After that has been taken care of, there are the bird boxes to clean out and maybe add another two to the collection.

And pruning the apple trees while there is still time.

And reacting to the unexpected, because you never know what you will find when you step outside in the morning on a farm...

Talk to you soon,

Bob
